Supporting Learning
All students at Eastbrook School are part of a mixed ability tutor group and should expect to remain with this group for their time at school.
We believe that regular assessment and monitoring linked to challenging individual targets are the best ways to maintain the persistent yet supportive pressure that is vital for high achievement. We do this in a variety of ways, including individual learning targets, regular progress reports and an Academic Review Day.
The school supports students’ additional learning needs. These involve specialist teaching to develop literacy skills, language support and support with behaviour, organisation and emotional development.
There is an Inclusive Learning Centre at the school, counselling services and access to specialist support teachers and health professionals. A team of learning mentors and teaching assistants provide support, challenge and a programme of activities for some of our students.
