Politics
The study of Government and Politics at AS/A2 level enables students to understand how our Government and Parliament work, how laws are made, and the real difference voting can make. All young people have issues they care about, from crime and local youth services to the environment both locally and globally. The study of this course will enable students’ to voice their opinions within a political framework. It encourages active citizenship and provides an understanding of the British and American political process.
The course is studied over two years, at the end of the first year students’ are awarded an AS grade which contributes to their final A-level grade at the end of the second year. Universities and employers hold this A- level qualification in high esteem. It shows that students’ have the ability to demonstrate powers of analysis and are aware of the changes taking place in an ever-changing world. There is no coursework.
